About the event
A mining company is attempting to acquire a 100-year permit to begin the construction and operation of a new quarry in Ottawa County. The dust in their potential construction site contains numerous heavy metals that are toxic to humans when inhaled. As seen in the photo, there will be large amounts of dust produced and spread into the air if this permit request is granted, which would make this quarry a dangerous pollution site. This will lead to an increased risk of heavy metal poisoning in the residents living near these pollution sources.
