Household Survey Report.

Our survey exists at the intersection of two dire human health crises: 1) persistent, recurring, and man-made flooding, and 2) landscape-wide heavy metals poisoning from a century of operating the world’s largest lead and zinc mine. The contaminated detritus from this mining legacy exist today in our air, our water, and our soil. It is everywhere, and when we flood, those floods spread the risk and the pain wherever the waters go.
 

These challenges combine to create a feeling that nothing can get better, that people lack meaningful options and choices.

This initiative was born from the hope that, through understanding and recording people’s experiences, we can strengthen our community’s quest for systemic, durable solutions to seemingly insurmountable problems.
